The Seattle Seahawks engineered a remarkable fightback to overcome the Rams in extra time, securing their place in the NFL play-offs.

Overcoming a 30-14 hole in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks triumphed by a single point at home, notching their fifth straight victory.

While the Los Angeles had become the first to earn a playoff berth earlier on Sunday, the Seahawks booked their return to the play-offs after a two-year hiatus.

With this result, the Seattle have taken over their Conference standings with a twelve and three mark, replacing the Rams, who fell to the number five playoff position with an eleven and four standing.

Game Highlights

Quarterback Sam Darnold had two interceptions but regrouped to deliver two touchdown passes, culminating in the tying TD to wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the extra period.

The visitors held a six-point lead at half-time before Walker burst through for a 55-yard scoring dash for the home side.

Los Angeles defensive back Josh Wallace then returned Darnold's initial interception for a big return, setting up a one-yard touchdown by Corum on the ensuing snap.

In the final stanza, a touchdown from Matthew Stafford to Nacua pushed the advantage to 30-14, but Shaheed provided Seattle's comeback with a spectacular return for a score.

Darnold then connected with AJ Barner in the end zone, and a converted two-point play sent the contest into an extra period.

Although Puka Nacua raced in for his second TD in OT, Smith-Njigba responded in kind to set up the decisive conversion.
