At Least 98 Palestinian Individuals Lost Their Lives in Detention Since October 2023, Statistics from Israel Shows

According to data released by Israel, at least 98 Palestinian individuals have lost their lives while in custody starting from October 2023. A human rights group operating from Israel has reported that the true number is likely significantly greater, as a result of hundreds of missing detainees from Gaza.

Certain fatalities in custody have been widely reported, such as a middle-aged medical chief who lost his life in confinement after a third of a year in confinement.

A detainee incarcerated with the victim testified that he was taken to the yard by guards just prior to his death, clearly wounded and exposed from the lower body. His body has not been returned to Gaza.
